Panama City!
Home of the Panama Canal, beautiful Casco Viejo, graphiti\art-decked-out buses, friendly people, lots of ¨psssts¨, whistles and ¨hey babies¨ on the streets, serious policia and lots of cheap shopping...not to mention pizza EVERYWHERE!!!
Took a 1 hour flight from Bocas to Panama City. (Our first plane (1st plane photo) which was to depart at 8:00am broke down upon arrival at the airport. We flew with a different airline 6 hours later!)
Over a marina in Panama city.
There she is! Panama City.
Arrived in Panama City safely.
The city is a bit gritty, so it's important to lock up your stuff...but there's beauty to be found. Check out the church below.Traditional Kuna living and working in the city.

Here's some images of what seemed to be a typical traffic stop. Pretty scary huh? They were let go without incident. This is in the poorer part of Casco Viejo. Here's where you get your nails done and your braids did (in the styling of Missy Elliot). WHO KNEW?! I'm worldwide baby!!Panama City was surprisingly CHEAP!!This guy is in Casco Viejo getting a float ready for the Carnaval Parade which takes place in only 3 hours all the way across town. He better hurry up! HUGE yachts parked in the marina out by way of the super posh 'causeway'. (very touristy and very expensive part of town.)
Again, it's a gritty city, but even the buses hold a certain beauty. It's a big city...sometimes you just need to have a seat, take a break and watch it all
