Bocas del Toro, Panama
The place that seems to have it all!
I crossed the border on the Caribbean side of Costa Rica into Panama. Easy enough, just walk across the bridge...looks a little sketchy though, huh? Then, I jumped on a boat...These kids helped load my luggage.I'm on my way to Isla Colon...better known as Bocas del Toro.My new Dutch girlfriends, Joyce (left) and Bridget who I met at the border, bought me my first Panamanian beer. We found Hostel Heike......dropped our bags and then cruised the main strip in Bocas.
Found some great children playing in the street (home made go cart?)and playing soccer. Look closely, she's a dirty player!

Next day, we booked an awesome all-day snorkeling, dolphin spotting, beach going, red-frog spotting trip for $20 each!!

We did some shopping for our Carnaval outfits.
Then decided on regular clothes. We got caught up in the towns ramp-up towards Carnaval. (this was a practice parade, but it sure sounded like and looked like the real thing!) The kids on Bocas can get DOWN!And they start at a very early age!
Everyone gets invovled in the parade, even the boys!We ended our perfect Bocas day with ladies night at Agua Lounge across the water from the main island.Where the party was big and fun! Ladies drink free till 11:30pm!There's always a party going on in Bocas. The next night, it was Bob-a-Palooza. We met Bob in the water taxi heading back from ladies night at Aqua Lounge. This is Bob...cool Canadian birthday boy. On Bocas, even an extranjeros birthday is reason enough to organize a party. Of course, there are tranquil beaches on Bocas...I'm telling you, Bocas del Toro in Panama has it all! I loved it there and would go back in a minute!
